Which Singapore-based Coupon Startup Gets The Most Buzz?

This post first appeared on YoungUpstarts.

Singapore-Coupon-Startups

Taking the lead from posts on coupon startups in Asia, we at JamiQ embarked on an experiment to understand the buzz taking place on the Singapore social media around these brands.

Trends & Insights

  1. The best tactic for spreading the word on current offers is best done on the real-time social media. In this case, it’s working for Beeconomic who gets most of its mentions out on Twitter.
  2. BrandsFever gets the most coverage in the news and blog coverage. In fact, it is the only coupon startup in our list that gets mentioned across all media types.
  3. It’s a pity Voucherous and SGsavings.com didn’t get any mentions in the week. In today’s fast moving consumer space of coupons and discounts nothing matters more than buzz on the social media.

Thank you for your support

When we opened our doors for business 2 days ago, little did we realize that we’d receive such a warm reception. Within minutes JamiQ was all over Twitter and I (@benkoe) began trending as a fairly influential contributor to the #msm09 conference thanks mainly to the RT love from people supporting us.

We’ve also got amazing coverage from:

  1. Social Media Analysis
  2. Young Upstarts
  3. SG Entrepreneurs 1 | 2

Check out the love we got on Twitter too!

JamiQ’s media week

This week was fantastic for JamiQ. In the spand of two days we were published in two national papers here in Singapore.

We were interviewed for an article on mining online sentiment in The Straits Times Digital Life on Wednesday, 14 January 2009 and again for an article on startups in TODAY, Friday, 16 January 2009.

This is a great step for JamiQ, considering we haven’t even put out our first press release.

There’s more exciting developments to come, so watch for it!

UPDATE: One more piece of coverage in The Sunday Times.
